i will be going out on the Sunday 2nd April with stitch (john) from angesey. I will be getting there 10am i will post a meeting place closer to the date due to the weather not being very predictable. Anyone that wishes to come along is very welcome just let me know. This might be your last chance for a practice before the meet on the 16th. Dave

Hi Terry Moelfra sounds good to me, I have never been there. I was thinking of launching at Rhoseniega with its surf beach right infront and cliffs and caves to the left and right. To be honest i don't mind which. At least if one location is blown out by the weather we can go to the other side for a bit of a paddle. One thing Dave didn't mention is this trip is more of a paddle what with the time of year and the fishing the way it is, a bit naff. Still, i will be bringing with me a hand line just in case.
John ;D ;D ;D

If no one has any objections i propose we meet up just before we get to angelsey and assess the weather conditions, moelfra sounds like a great place weather permitting, if we are unable to get out from there any suggestions would be appriciated. I will post the meeting place and time on thursday night with directions. If anyone wants to do any rescue training i will gladly help out and take you through it

Hello all Moelfra is a great place , I have fished it many times its easy parking and during the summer months there is a café in the car park it is an easy launch even at low water You only have a 80/100 yard walk the small beach we launch from is made up of large pebbles it is a steep beach and at 30 ft out you are in 25foot of water it is quite sheltered about 1 mile out there is an island its called rat island because of its infestation with dogfish as the light drops but during the last year I have caught Huss mackerel herring gurnard cod whiting place scorpions skate and many more it’s a great Place to get a wide variety of fish . around the island is about 50 ft of water it has both smooth sandy And rocky bottom with in easy paddle range I have taken many novice kayakers here to cut there teeth . if any body coming has bait traps this island is a great place to drop it I have lost count of the number of prawns and lobsters I have had here most of the lobsters tend to be about 2 lbs in size (I can see Stuarts wife setting the table now ) but the prawns are massive so all in all it’s a top venue for a kayak easy paddle any state of the tide .as a second plan if its not fishable what about treaddur bay its only 20 mins from moelfra and is very sheltered and does produce fish .both places are great for practicing safety procedures. I cut my teeth at treaddur bay both places have a resident lifeboat and coastguard station. I will have some vhf radio procedure cards with me for anyone who wants one. .

Hi everyone if everyone agrees i suggest we all meet at the junction of the A55 and A5 sign posted Bethesda there is a service station. For those coming from the north turn left off the A55 onto the A5, the services is on the right hand side i think its a Shell station but not sure. For those coming from the opposite direction turn right at the same junction. then we can assess the weather and make a decision where to go. we will be meeting at 10am. If anyone has not got my number let me know by 1pm on Saturday and i will send it to you so you can phone me if you are running a bit late. For those people who want to practice with there gps, the coordinates for the service station are
53-12'06.52"N 4-06'23.26"w see you all on Sunday Dave
