Headed for prev. suggested mark in between Pig. Holes and the next 'corner'. We arrived 7am ish to avoid traffic and crowds and did - heaven! Only 1.5 hours from Stockport. Found a wide sort of layby on the toll road by a telegraph pole and salt bin - this was some way after the top road meets the toll road as suggested but think we may have gone a bit too far ? (already asked Nige this). Anyway went thro. hole in wall and ventured seawards - at this point saw school of porpoises in the bay - wow a first for me !!
Pretty hairy descent to be honest - don't do this alone and wear solid footwear! I took too much gear and was top heavy. Eventually found target mark - last 15 foot was a proper climb handing gear down in a chain ( there were 3 of us)
Anyway got down onto super ledge plus found a newish step- ladder going down to sea level ledge another 15 foot below (handy for retrieving snagged stuff as we did !) We could see 2 caves round to our left as we faced the sea.
Didnt see a soul all day - nor many fish either sadly - just got 2 macks on dexters around 14:30 (just after high tide) There was a pretty friendly seal close in - I blame him.
We tried all techniques - ledger, paternoster, spinners, floats and feathers but we only had mack and squid bait. We are all relative newcomers though so maybe more experienced among you would have made more of this lovely isolated spot.
As usual though - loads of anglers' rubbish left behind - rig packaging mostly. We half filled a bin bag with what we could reach and binned it on way home. But - fantastic day!
