Wife wanted to go to Budleigh sat , so I decided this would be my first Bass trip since getting back into bit of Beach fishing. Not disappointed. 6lb Bass 1hr after dark 15m out Pennel whole calamari. Thought that was good. Seen a guy fish much further along west than I was. He came back along with 4 bass , all on yeap , you guessed Crab. My fish was full of hard back crab. Just like cod dustbin gobbed sea bed hovers. Ended a good week , caught a 2lb Brown trout while fly fishing week end b4. Note the surf had turned the first 20m out into a mud colored water. All ways a good sign along south coast shingle beaches a reckon.

What do you want to do? There are loads of places in the Estuary around Plymouth where Ray can be caught, breakwaters and surf beaches around there for other species and plenty of mullet all around. There are good tackle shops such as "Clives" and "Sea View Bait and Tackle" that will be able to put you onto the best spots and most current details. They will have live worm and sandeel and so your spoily for choice. Some venues near on the SW home page such as Seaton and Beesands/Slapton with photos.
