Morning folks. Have plans to take wifey, one grand daughter and the dog camping just north of Seahouses about the 28th for a week. Obviously i will need to escape for a days fishing so can anyone point me in the right direction for that area. I will be using light weight kit,3ozs beachcaster and i will be targeting flatties. I also want to do some spinning. Any info will be appreciated. Cheers for now. CM. P.S. For those who don,t know, I paid my dues to the RNLI for missing out on the Loch Etive comp.

hi cm, first spinning, you can spin off the piers at seahouses but the one with the carpark on gets crowded with holiday makers and can make casting dificult, you could also try either cullernose point or dunstanburgh castle point , these will produce either pollock, mackeral and coalfish. now for flatfish, nearly every sandy beach both north and south of seahouses will fish for then , crab or ragworm or rag tipped with fish should be ok, the river aln at alnmouth would be a better place to fish for them as there is less tourists around but crab is a must for there, embleton beach can be good for turbot at times
shame you are just going to fish for flatties and spin as there are some great kelp beds around seahouses with some good red cod and good size wrasse to big crab baits

Ok Steve, Thanks for the info. If i can find room in the motor for the heavy gear i,ll have a go in the kelp. Will firm up on dates when i get home after speaking to Sheena. Cheers for now, CM.
