Hi folks, I have to put my hand up and say that i was one of the guys who promised to go to Etive on the 21st and failed to attend. I apologise. Consequently the RNLI was done out of my entrance fee. I will send off a tenner to them, a fiver for the fee and a fiver for the guilt! Fact is the good lady got a late booking to the Greek island of Rhodes, and the 21st was her birthday after all. I gained a good holiday but i also missed out. I hope there will be other days out so i can join in the fun, also noticed the Northeast boys get out quite a bit so when i go down south i might be able to join in, if i,m not imposing. Cheers for now.

hi crazy, the sunday would be a better day for us as one of the lads is having his wedding do on the sat night + it will give us time to sort bait out, me and markzapper get ourbait together and tompa gets his own , you can either get your own ( if you want ) or we can get it for you, will need to know as soon as so we can order it, we were thinking of taking you to south shields pier as its an easy platform to fish off , there are a variety of things to catch, and the parking is easy at £1.50 per day, we will be aiming for plaice and flounder, but there is a possibility of coalfish and codling on the inside of the pier, but its heavy ground and tackle losses can be high, there is also a possibility of mackeral at the end, to hokeye's and daylights, main bait will be ragworm with either squid, mackeral or crab to tip it off, are you a compident caster, just some parts of the pier there is rough ground close in and a cast of 70 yards will put you clear of it, will put the meeting time on later once i have a look at the tides, here is a map of where to meet on the sunday morning the meet is at the carpark at the base of the pier

Hi, Steve, Thanks for the info. Myself and the good lady are looking forward to meeting you and the rest of the lads, Sunday will be fine. I will order our own bait on Friday when we get down there. As for throwing the lead out, well i have just loaded with 15lb line and 80lb leader and i hav,nt used it yet. Only ever used 35lb straight through from my local rocks, casting little distance, so you may be in for a laugh. I wiil also bring a light weight rod (3oz) which i like for the flatties. Catch one on this rod and you think you hooked into jaws! We leave early Fri. morning so I had better give you my mobile number as there will be no more "E" mail contact once we,ve left home. Cheers for now, CM

hi cm, got your mobile and deleted it of the site just incase crank callers, except for us cranks ;D ;D. looking at the tide, low water is 3 in the afternoon, was thinking of meeting at about 1.15 in the afternoon and fish till about 8 or 9 at night, so we will be fishing about 1.5 hours down and then back up , with high water about 9ish and hopefully a flat sea there might be one or two mackeral around, will ring you closer to the time to make sure everything ok

Cheers Steve/tompa, Sounds good to me. We will be in a dark blue funny looking italian moter called a "Multipla" so you can keep an eye out for us. Don,t know about managing 70 yards but my missis gets more fish than me. That might tell you something. I take it for granted that the thermos and a bag full of Stotties is par for the course. See y,all on Sunday. CM.
