We traveled up this morning, left Gateshead at 6am and arrived at Brig-house Bay at around 8.30am. After making our way to the rock mark at the back of the caravan site we began to fish. Various tactics were used, floats, jelly worms, mackerel feathers, daylights, shrimps, bottom fishing with sand-eel etc,etc.....! we caught 20 fish between us of various species,Dogfish being the main catch. We also caught Pollock, codling a scorpion fish and what we think was a very small monk fish!! We left at around 7pm to make our way home after a very good day,all of us sun burnt (must remember suncream for next time) Photo's to follow,to tired and burnt at the minute!!! Cheers Tompa

Fished just down from Brig-house bay yesterday …. Seaward… lots of Mackerel between the rocks caught two nice size ones . The fish tackle shop at Kirkubright put me on to the spot . Park at the car park at the bay and walk 200yards down to the rocks .

scotty its better if you go onto the caravan park and park at the club at the far end , then follow the woodland walk to the far side of the golf course , there are plenty of good spots all along that area with deep water straight out ,

scotty there will still be plenty of fish around that area in sept, another good area is burrowhead its just outside the isle of whithorn, there campsite is quite good and you can pitch your tent within 10 yards of the cliffs for easy fishing , the rocks are basicly the sameas kirkubright, we use to book a caravan for the weekend up there as it was only about £30 for the night, if you fish at burrowhead, spinning with small leadheads with either rag, sandeel or jellies can produce some good pollock especially when low water is around dusk, there are also wrasse , and doggies , with conger on the night, not massive fish but still another species to go for
