Just had a fabulous week in Scotland. Pity I couldn't take my kayak but alas I was on a motorbike so not possible. I did take some telescopic rods though and had a lot of fun around John O Groat and Wick with some fabulous wrasse. I can't begin to explain how friendly the Scots were.

My motorcycle exhaust fell off as I approached Wick and we couldn't find it anywhere so I rode (loudly) to a small motorbike shop in Wick and had a coffee in a cafe while he 'Did what he could'! Got back to find he'd taken an exhaust off his old bike and managed to ingeniusly force it to fit mine and I thought great job but I'm going to be 'stung in the wallet' what with being an English tourist in a pickle. He charged me only £35 saying he doesn't like to see someone stuck! I gave him £50 and a lot of praise.

That was typical of the Scots I met there. I can't speak highly enough of them.
