hi i dont normally suffer, but i went through a stage where i only had to look at the sea and i was ill . my cure was to use a walkman playing reasonably loud i know this sounds daft but it has something to do wth your ears and balance, u have to confuse your ears, it worked for me now i am ok when fishin again, and i dont have to wear the walkman. but always keep ur eyes on the horison not at the boat and stay away from the rear of the boat if its a charter boat the diesel exhaust fumes will make u real ill hope this helps

that is very good advice that Capnjack has given you, do not put your head down, take an intrest in what is going on on the boat, and start catching mac, it dose have somthing to do with your ears. but it is mostly in the minde,I used to fish with a chap that sufferd, and I used to take him to a little chef befor we went out and pay for his fryup, it was worth it ,he was a grate ground bater, and once he had put his brakefast in the sea he was fine.

Hi yes capnjack is right about the balance ,but you do not need a walkman just insert some foam ear plugs ten years in the RN ,yep ear plugs work

I take sturgeon tablets, you can either take them the night before or i think an hour before you go on the boat. they work a treat oh and as someone mentioned always try and look to the horizon (a bit hard when your fishing though) but when you are catching fish then it takes your mind of it. good luck

ginger is great either in sweets/cakes/or the stuff from health food shops it is a natural remedy for motion sickness and if it does'nt work it tastes better on the way up..

A couple of years ago I stayed in beumaris, and drank half a bottle of whiskey the night before going out for a couple of hours mackerel bashing.....what a BIG BIG mistake Thats my advice.....not to drink the night before and have a good kip

Only one sure cure, sid it before
Hug a tree
Next best if you have a sympathetic doctor ask him for Prochlorperazine (Stemetil) they will definately stop your sickness, unfortunately they are a POM so you can't buy them.

I often travel on ferries & find that the ' travel bands' are very effective, they work on acupressure points on the inside of the wrist. They're cheap, last a long time & above all they work.
