I'm mainly an inland fisherman, but I have always spun/floated sand eels of the rocks when anywhere near the sea.
I bought some cheap braid 35lb that was not coated and loaded my fixed spool reel with it, not too close to the rim. It ended up miles away from the rim because I kept snapping it off if I got a wind knot (at the knot). The spool was only 3/4 full by the end... Is braid known to be really weak at knots? or was it very false economy to buy cheap braid?
I was getting wind knots when the spool was half empty. Reloaded with 12lb mono and was absolutely fine? Can someone give me some advice, I feel stupid

Could be a classic case of Buy cheap, Buy twice there mate. Never used any other braid than berkley fireline so carnt really comment on other sorts of braid but never had a problem with the the stuff I use

I've tried a good few of the Braids on the Market over the years and i have to agree with Rzaskar, Fireline is the best. I've used Braid for the last 10 years, its Fireline for me.

Dynon 3000 XF, casts for miles and is very docile (for a braid) doesn't start fluffing like Fireline and has a very good knot strength
