Holford, Myself and Andyclark fished the tide up and an hour down, started fishing at 10am after fist spending some time showing Andy how to cast with a mutiplier, for someone who'd never used one before he did very well. Baits were ragworm, rigs were double runner on 4oz gemini on flattie fanatics. First off the mark was me with this nice Schoolie of around 2lb. Then Holford with a very small Bass of around 3/4 lb. Nothing after this for an hour then Holford landed this very fat Plaice. We're pushed of the beach now by the tide and are fishing on the Dolos, I decide to try my luck with the spinner taking a nice sized Mackerel, seeing this Andy decided to set up a set of feathers and quite happily fished the rest of the day for mackerel, taking 15 in total for the freezer. all good sized fish too. Meanwhile Holford is spinning over to my left with a Rapala J11 on a 5ft spinning rod. Much to his suprise given the very bright conditions the rod is almost ripped from his hands by this Bass just topping 4lb. I tried and tried to get by first bass by plug but alas it was not to be today, I did not have a J11 in my spinning kit. Then just over the top of the tide Holford bags another Bass of 4lb on the same plug. So all in all not a bad day concidering we did not expect and Bass due to the conditions, Andy learned and can now hold his own with a multiplier, And we all got well sun burned.

Nice little write up there Largerider. The photo's turned out well too. Just to also say, Andyclarke did really well on the casting, so well done mate. I don't think ive ever seen anyone take to casting straight off with a multiplier quite so well. Tight Lines, Holf

Nice one guys - we will have driven straight past this area on our fruitless trip to G Orme on Sat. Where do you recommend exiting the A55 and parking up for fishing in Llyndulas area? Cheers. Grahame.

We always exit at the Llandulas exit and drive under the A55 then follow the sign for beach. Park at the end of the carpark and choose a likely looking spot. Take care entering as you have to cross the cycleway. There are plenty of features on the beach both rough and clean.
