had myself a little boat trip today out of sunderland, there was a thick fog when we went out at about 9 this morning, we were only staying inshore today, possibly only a couple of miles to fish the hard ground, on the morning most fish were caught on hokeye's tipped with rag,and taking more fish than tipped with squid, they were caught right on the bottom and apart from 1 coalfish of about 1.5lb the rest were codling around the 2lb mark, after a couple of drifts things went quiet for a bit , after a few changes of lures to see what the fish were now taking, the only thing they seemed to be interested in was a type of lure with a pink tinsle running off it, with only squid as bait, and the fish were now getting caught about 4 or 5 turns off the bottom,a few more fish were boated and a scorpion fish for me as well as some more cod, but after a few more drifts again things went quiet so we called it a day , we got back about 4 in the afternoon with about 100 fish caught scorpion out at sea the old folks needing a sit down at the back of the boat the main man
