hi backbone,
first tackle shops / prichards tackle, 56 eastborough, scarborough. buckleys fishing tackle, 6 leading post street, scarborough
tackle /stiffish rods like conoflex highlander or ron thompson accelorator, with 7000/slosh 30 reelsand 30/35lb main line straight through will be ok for scarborough and surrounding areas
areas / marine drive is one of the main places to fish in the winter, with various marks along its length, the east pier can be ok for spinning for mackeral in the summer. north of scarborough is burniston bay, can be fished both summer and winter, ground is rough so rotten bottom rigs needed fresh crab a must for summer fishing with fishing over low water best, cloughton wyke, as above hayburn wyke, as above ravenscar and robin hoods bay
south of scarborough is filey brig and flamborough head
most of the rocky skeers can be tackle hungry but double figure cod are caught in both summer and winter to big crab baits, the sandy beaches will produce flatfish in both summer and winter to worm and fish baits, with the possibility of bass if there is any surf around
