Thinking of going camping at Robin Hoods Bay next week for a couple of days. Can anyone give any advice for fishing within 10 miles or so of the Bay.

robin hoods bay can be fished on high or low water, low water on the rocky outcrops will produce codling, wrasse and coalfish to fresh crab, the ground is heavy so rotten bottom pulley rigs are best, high water will produce flatfish to either crab or ragworm on the sandy beaches, sometimes a thumb nail size of mackeral on the end of the rag will help in the aid of catching flounders, other places that will fish over low waterto the same tactics as robin hoods bay is ,to the south, ravenscar, staintondale, cloughton wyke, to the north is saltwick bay , runswick bay, port mulgrave, cowbar, boulby and skinninggrove, most of the sandy beaches should produce flatfish and whitbynorth pier should produce mackeral at high water

Thanks for the advice - I know the area well as my uncle used to have the Bay Hotel in Robin Hoods Bay many years ago, but I wasn't into fishing then. Think I'll give the pier at Whitby a miss though as I've seen it really crowded in the past. Any chances for the silver ones at low off the scars with a chugbug?
