Gents, Looking for a spot between Edinburgh and Dunbar for flattie fishing suitable to take a couple of twelve year olds fishing for the first time..........Thanks in advance

Musselburgh lagoons is an alright spot the record flounder for Scotland came from there, however you may get a blank session there depending on the weather. Another spot which steveb informed me about is coldringham bay you get flounder, plaice and dabs from there. Good luck entertaining the 12 year olds ;D

i put a list of a few places to fish in the forth on an earlier thread , but just incase i missed this one i will put it on now.
tyne sands - mouth of the river tyne at dunbar
this is a top mark for flounder fishing with the added chance of catching coalfish, eel and bass, fresh crab or rag are top baits with rag tipped with mackeral also good, 2 or 3 hook rigs with size 1 hooks and a grip lead will be needed on the bigger tides, fish from low water till 1 hour past high
getting there from the a1, follow the a1087 to dunbar, turnoff at the country park just before the signpost indicating west barns , take the road to lingfield car park and follow the paths to the beach

when i fished tunningham after parkin the car the walk to ages and is back breaking because of the very fine sand . watch out for tides coming in cos there pretty quick

u could try portabello near the plkd fair ground or just behind the bus station i was fishing for floundert and pulled in 2 seabass to my surprise i thought it was coalie till i grabbed it and fin s stuck into my hand lol very safe fishing there for kids 2 use rag and lug

Gents, today I have taken two twelve year olds fishing for the first time to tyningham..............DISASTER........NEVER AGAIN. To sum up ...no fish....sand in food... bored kids...SUNBURN!!!!!!! its better to try when they are older I think?

hey beachbuddy try portobello behind old fair ground near burn if fishing gets poor u casn always take kids into amusments
