hello sorry if this is a stupid question, as i usually ledger. i have just bought a couple of surf poppers, they wiegh 52 grams, do i need a shock leader, and can you advise on a suitable knot for attaching them ?

not sure on that ste but ide liketo know as well cause i lost a small lure last week but i think that it was more my fault than weaker line ;D ;D

hi capnjack. depends on what main line your useing.. 52gm is just under 2oz they always say, call an ounce a pound and times it by 10 (ie. 3oz= 30lb shockleader.) thats if your a super duper tounament caster. if you have 12lb main line i wouldnt think you will have any problems. as for knots i prefer a uni knot,vey rare i have trouble with it.tie a lure snap swivel on then connect that to your lure. each to their own though. ;D

You should be fine using 10 - 12lb line with a 52g lure. Now I have said that You have permission to slap me if you hav a snap off ;D ;D
