I was wondering do any of you use the synchrotron cast' or syth cast as some people call it, for people that do not know it, it is only used by experanced casters, it is very much like the pendulum cast, but it is dun at waist hight, the benefits are that casting into an on shore wind, you get a much increasted cast, because the lead dose not meet much resistens from the wind as it goes out just above the water, another factor is that a brackaway will not harm some ones head as it is to low, however it could do untold harm to future generations, you may know the cast by what some people call it the WU.

you being tall Tompa, should finde it easy after a few goes, but I would not recomend it to beginers, let them get a bit of experance with the pendlum cast first, and do not have any one standing by you untill you are profishunt, Ishould have shown you at Holyhead, I thought about it, but I did not want the lads to think that I was showing off, but I don't think even that cast would have helped much the night of the storm,

Shame you didn't show me Cliff as I would have liked to give it a go! Are there any web sites I can visit to see how it's done?

I have not seen it on a web site, but then I do not surf the net, I belive it was first used in the windward Isle's, and someone brought it to the Shetland's and was used by the crofters, because there is a lot of wind there, may be some of the more experanced anglers on this site could enlighton us, ;D
