Friday Night the weather improved, so back to my favourite mark off Bournemouth, but not the best night I've had there. Mackrel bait & ragworm produced one bass of 3 Lb, one Pollack of 2 Lb, to break the monotony of pulling up dogfish and pouting all night. Very dissappointing: no Smooth Hound or Tope on a mark that has been fantastic over the last couple of months.
Plenty of mackrel at first light, of all sizes - stocked my freezer with winter bait !!
Tried out my new Penn floatation suit on the word of friends who told me I would be sweating in it at this time of the year. In the daytime yes it gets a bit hot, but at night, even with layers underneath I still got bloomin cold around 4-6 in the morning. Still a fantastic bit of kit that I would seriously recommend the investment; £125 from Poindesters in Southampton - and the colours are very Gucci !!!!
