Fished about a mile out from Hurst Shingle, in 14 meters of water, using mackerel and ragworm. Some early Channel Whiting, late Bream, last mackerel of the year, 2 small Thornback and the usual annoyance from Dogfish. A guest caught a Red Mullet...haven't seen one of thoise since I was ...well a long time ago. We tried drifting closer in shore, by the beach huts off Milford-on-Sea, close to the start of Hurst Shingle. I had been told that they were getting reasonable Sole there recently, but had to settle for 3 small bass - ALL RETURNED Does anyone know of a reasonable area to drift for Plaice. Anywhere from Portsmouth to Bournemouth or is it a bit too early/late for them
