Guys & Gals (being politically correct), Anyone got any suggestions for some good areas for Flounder from the boat in Southampton area ?? Cheers - Nick

I haven't done much floundering for years (around here) but would suggest at this time of year, when the frosts arrive, fairly shallow water. You could try 100-200 yards off Weston Shore, or the same off the shore just north of Hythe. Or even a bit further upstream. I'd drift with a spoon float-fished so it just tumbles across the sea bed (not too quick, but keep it slowly moving). Ragworm. There shold be lots around for the next few months. Bite marks if you're lucky! (Wasn't you biting that cod to make sure it was real, eh?)
Wind looking good for this weekend, so i will be out - my cold/cough/flu is over!

some great flounder action at hythe marina wall also along weston shore fish to 2lb+ being taken regulary to small ragworm baits
