BIG WARNING:
Make sure you pay for your trailer as well as the car at Lymington...greedy thieving Council will ticket you for an extra £15 fine or £40 if not paid within 24hrs. The warning about trailers is hidden near the bottom of the machine.....The Sherrif of Nottingham has a new home
So to park is £6 each for car and trailer, plus £8 to launch your own boat; A grand total of £20 to go fishing if you choose Lymington. Now I am no miser, but that is taking the mickey...pure greed

I've taken to parkng in the roads - 5 minutes walk, but saves £12 if you are out all day. I am sure this is NOT what the council had in mind, so think they should reconsider the tralier charge, but will they?

Thanks for the pointer...it's a convienient launch site for the Needles area, but the cost is a rip off. I will take your lead and park in the roads nearby. Also, if you get ther early enough the guy charging to launch will still be in bed....no cost at all; much better.

Yes, its easy to miss the launch-man on the way out, but he's there waiting for when you get back! I have tried arguing half-heartedly about it being a "launching" fee not a "retrieval" fee, but he just looked at me blankly and said "£8".
Legally i think its fine to not pay for retrieval, since you could easily launch at one place nd retireve at another (OK, you need someon to drive the car but I did it often in NZ because of weather and tide). But its not worth the worry! just eait until the sun isnt shining, or ots not summer weekend, and the ticket-man wont be there!
