Fished off the Needles this Sunday (20th Nov), amongst about 20+ boats in the area. Took a friend on his first boat trip to the area and he did well with his first Conger and a small COD...it was only about 3 lb but from what we could see and chatting to the charter customers at Lymington it was better then anyone else had managed. Seems that the fishing is exceptionally poor around the Needles at the moment, not trying to put the place down but compared with this time last year it has gone down hill. I'm just hoping that with the increasingly cold weather that the Cod will soon arrive in numbers that make a trip worth the effort. That said it was bloomin lovely out there with the sun lighting up the Isle of Wight cliffs and even a poor days fishing sure beats vegging in front of the telly or decorating
