DEFRA's current consultation on the proposal to increase the minimum landings size for bass from 36 cm to 45cm which ends on the 8th of February 2006 can be accessed at:- ukbass.com/bassmanagementplan/howyoucanhelp.htmlNot surprisingly it's opposed by most commercial fishermen and sea fisheries committees who wish to retain the current mls. It is therefore very important that many sea anglers respond to it favourably if the Minister is to approve the increase."

I shall write along the lines suggested by B.A.S.S.
Things were not good 25 years agon when i last regualrly fished in south UK. Situation is pretty grim and some sort of action is essential

spot on brm - 25 years ago was when bass were just a recreational species. Now the commercials are in on the act look at the problems.
lets not let the commercials do to bass what they did to cod
