Hi All,
Just joined the forum, though i'd say hello to all. Just moved down the Highcliffe in the last year, and just starting out on the sea angling route after years of being a coarse fisher.
all the best.

Highcliffe, off the beach, espcially in the evenings and at night, you should get bass, whiting, puting and (very) occasional cod in winter. Plus flatties.
I have only fished there once or twice so don't know what is best. In summer livebaits (pout) might get you a big bass. Someone told me he had some good plaice in spring/summer. ths time of year you might want to walk along to Hurst Point for a cod or two (ugh? or none probably!). Best is a neap flood tide, the ebb is VERY difficult becase of the strong currents
Good luck!
