First trip out for a while yesterday and pleased to say there were some decent bass around off Hurst, drifting the banks. One small, 5 around 4-6 lbs, all on the flood. Don't know when they were first here, since i haven't been out, but i don't remember catching much until July last year, so maybe they are a bit early.
Give it a month or two and there might be some big ones, then.
Plus plenty of mackerel too. I used them for bait in preference to chicken.

Great and sounds like some good sport. The late spring and then the weather we have been having has got the Cornish Commercial men saying it will be a very good summer and Autumn for fish/fishing. There have been huge shoals of herring in the West of the channel. Hope you get that Big bass.
