Can any one recommend good beach fishing marks on the isle of Wight. Going camping mid August, Thorness Bay near Cowes. Also local bait shops

Spent a few days at Freshwater Bay this weekend (walking not fishing? ). Looks a good spot, but a drive from Cowes. You can fish directly in front of the Albion Hotel, beer in one hand, rod in the other. (Good Bass there, of the beer variety!). Some people also fishing by the lifeboat ramp half way along the bay. I'd go 100 yards further, but not too far since the bay gets shallow and rocky at the end. Looks a good bassy spot, evenings and mornings, i reckon. Yarmouth pier might be OK monrings and evenings, else lots of boats. Fresh mackerel i reckon, or crabs. Yormouth wold have smoothies too. Both might have rays. Good luck!
