A 21lb cod has now been caught by an angler from a charter boat in the Mersey only days after the 22lb3oz cod. Let you know more when I have the details.

Why keep a fish of that size? there are not many of them, let it fight another day, get a photo and let it go.

he caught it, so it's his choice, let's see a pic of the 22lb'er you caught and returned

Yeah fair one, good comment, ill take that on the chin, but i personnaly would and do return fish of that size. us anglers are always whinging that theres no cod here and no bass there, but you open the pages of sea angler or tsf magazines and theres a pic of some bloke in his garden holding up a 15lb bass. some of these fish have probably been around longer than the person that caught it, we should have some respect for them and put them back.but these are my personal views and im sure we could all argue until next xmas about it!! Oh and well done to the guy that got the above fish!! Tight lines.

Largest cod I've ever caught was 17lb and I returned it, however I remember thinking 'Am I merely giving this to netters instead'. Largest bass I ever caught was 11lb and I ate that but after it was ate I regretted it. It's the choice of the person who catches it and for some a difficult one.
