I fished the air vents today but didnt see any sign of the huge cod everyone was talking about but did get quite a few whiting. Somebody there spraying WD40 on their bait. Does this work? He had a few whiting and a 2lb codling but that isnt enough to asertain if the WD40 works magic.

A few people have told me that WD40 is good for whiting, but so is mackerel. theres that many of them there they'd probably eat mars bars if you put one on the hook.

WD40 releases an oily slick that attracts cod (so I'm told) and carries the scent of the bait with it as well. I've never tried it myself and don't intend to. Be interesting though to hear from anyone who's tried putting it on one bait but not the other and experimented the difference. Truth or myth....hmmmm!
