I've heard that a permit/pass will still be required to get past the security guards. Still not sure how to get one but I'm working on it. I heard that It was originally closed under the premise that if the general public had access to the docks it would pose a terrorist threat.......... A lot of research has since been done and along with the help of a keen sea angler who just happens to be a local councillor, it was found that, dating back to the magna carta there should be public access to this area. This was then fought out through the courts and access has now, sort of, been granted.
