As a newbie I've done lots of searching and can see each mark having their own quirks but is there a general rule that these north wirral marks are best fished on low or high tide. If this is too general a question then I do apologise in advance. I suppose it depends on rig and species going for but I'm looking at spinning on light tackle with Yo-Zuri blue lures for Bass ;D I usually fish Gimblet Rock, Pwlhelli with success so once again sorry for the dumb question

Slow response so far Bob ! I fish Caldy now and again and it's deffo a HW mark, although I have seen some fish the channel as the tide floods. Very muddy getting to the channel and once over the lip, the tide speeds in to the rocks in a few minutes. I've caught plaice and flounder there, to rag, though have seen a shiney spikey fish landed once. Never seen any spinning done there. Hoylake - never fished. New Brighton - only tried a couple of times and it seems to be good at both low - into a Mersey channel at Fort Perch or to the west (see Harrison Drive report below), or at high from the Prom.
