just returned from a few hours on the ribble. fished the bank next to the 'trax-motor' park. drove to the end of there yard and fished just below. used rag and mackeral. used a single flowing trace and a bottom sliding trace with 2 hooks. had 10 flounder and 3 eels. all the flounder were keepers but all returned and one of the eels was near 3lb. a monster in the making. fished close in to start and found it to be snaggy and no bites, so changed to lobbing into the main channel and had bites all the time. left at 1.30 because kids were doing my head in!
good venue, need to look at low water next time before fishing and if i had been on my own, i would of had around 20 fish. rag worm seemed to be the killer bait and the dutch stuff bought from carters was of excellent quality. also there seemed to be a match on further up the river, so maybe one of those will put a report on here soon.

I was one of the blankers at the Preston and District Shore Anglers club match on the bullnose, I fished as a guest, around 40 fished, not a lot caught, winner I think had 3 flounders and an eel, heaviest fish was caught by a junior 1lb 3oz, shame they aren't allowed to enter the pool. next heaviest 1lb 1oz. good craic, guys travel from around the n.west and n. wales, just a shame the fish didn't show. Matches are measure and release with stewards to weigh heaviest fish, must be the way forward, thanks to Sam and all who helped in the organising. the next match they organise is a disabled anglers match at end of June.
