fished with my boys at squires gate yesterday, fished last 2 of ebb and first 2 in. it was a bit rough, full in your face westerly causing a long surf, the wind holds the tide back from going fully out so there are less good worms to go at, but we still got enough. it was hard work for the lads but they stuck at it, as usual i never got going because i spend most of my time sorting out the boys gear and trying to stop them drowning etc. anyway, we did ok. i got a decent flounder (on a 5/0 hook?), and little tom, he's 9 got a little schoolie, it was his first ever, he was a bit cheesed off at having to let it go, but he was buzzing because his big brother has not caught one yet. i reckon he's hooked now and i am pleased because we should all encourage kids to fish and help them whenever we can, the more of us there are the stronger will be our voice when we raise issues with the government about inshore trawling etc etc.(Blackpool should fish ok tonight, the wind has dropped but not too much).
