Heard from a mate that macks have been caught from the shore at New Brighton is this true as I have always been told that you cant get em here from the shore if this is true can anyone tell me where to fish for em save me a drive to Wales Cheers......Jon

They have been catching them along the sea front on from Derby Pool to the Clown Statue over high tide. Try the slip way there.
Saw a report a few weeks ago but all fish looked very small joeys.
Think you need a biggish tide and clear water.

There was a period a few weeks back when they "came in", and I think it was a big tide. Yes they were small, but some bigger ones at the Derby Pool end. I have tried a couple of times since, but only got a small weaver, saw no macs caught, in fact fishing there has been rubbish. Baits stripped in 5 minuters by the crabs. The consensus seems to be that it's a better low tide mark.
