Can I suggest a kayak meet? And if it's a success maybe we could do it on a regular basis. I find Trefor a good area..or somewhere around Anglsea.. Morfa Nefyn.. any ideas? How about January (if it's not too wavey)?? Let me have your thoughts and I'll get something arranged.

On the subject of a meeting place how about launching at the Little Orm end of Llnandudno bay. Within a five mile range between The Great Orm to Colwyn Bay Pier you have three bays which are sheltered to some degree and three points to fish from. The kayak meet is central to that area so the choice of were to fish apart from the weather conditions would be up to you. parking is free on the main road with a steep shingle beach a hundred feet to the water. For some reason Colwyn bay is calm when places like Anglesey are blowing a gale.

How about doing it on New Years Day? We could make it a friendly match and I'll get a trophy made up!

So far it's 9 of us for new years day which is me, SH and Zebra and we can have another one to include John (you arrange date for that one John). It'll be a great way (and a mad way) to start the year! As I have a double kayak I'll see if anyone on this forum or Welsh one who hasn't got a kayak wants to give it a go by going tandem with me on 1st Jan. If there's no takers I can arrange my seat into the middle and do it solo. This is going to be the perfect way to begin a new year. Oh yesssssss!!!!

If there's a lurker on here who hasn't a kayak and wants to give it a go on new years day e-mail me at glyn.hope@btopenworld.com Me and Steve both have double kayaks so there's a spare place on mine and his on new years day.

One good thing about New Years day is that the traffic volume is almost nil so it'll be a nice straight and quick drive to wherever we hold it.

Whatever takes our fancy I suppose. Sinkers, plugs, flies, floats, spinners. The fish decide!

I can lend you a self inflatable one but I'm sure Steve Hayward (who's yak you'll probably be in) will have all the proper yak gear you need.

i think that llandudno and the colwyn bay area will be a great place to go as my friend caught a number of fish of his kayak including a 3 1/2 pound fish
