Has anyone tried kayaking/angling in an estuary yet? Was the tide a problem? I expect the fishing potential is excellent as a kayak could get to spots in between the sandbanks that other boats can't.

oh yes oh yes oh yes. fantastico. you can glide over submerged sandbanks that boats daresnt even look at and shore anglers cant cast to and where gill netters cant walk to. your practicly in a nature reserve of fish and you can see them underneath you. its shallow water fishing at its best. brilliant.

One important little thing to remember though is the fact that most of the Welsh estuaries are Bass Nursery Areas, and boat fishing for Bass (even from a kayak )is not allowed during the spring to autumn months. As I once told by a local magistrate "ignorance is no excuse in the eyes of the law", so please do take note because hopefully the authorities ( and ourselves) will be keeping a much closer eye on these areas in the near future. Regards, Steve P.S. I hope to meet up with you all at the new years day meet, but can not guarantee availability as yet (I have the boat now, a P13, but still require proper roof rack, pfd, Cag, etc.) - any ideas where these can be obtained for a sensible price?

Brookbank Canoes do a cag for a tad under thirty quid it is meant for group use as well as individual so it must be good. I have one my self, put a fleece on underneath and your laughing. For thirty five quid you can buy a PFD.
