Dave and i paddled from Colwyn Bay Pier at about nine thirty in the morning heading to Rhos on Sea dropping our lines along the way but no luck. From there we paddled to The Little Orm fishing in its shadow. Dave blanked and i caught one whiting which was released and something which mouthed my whole sand-eel bait four times before i could set the hook. Don't know what it was but my drag was at max and my 20/30lb rod was bent right over, i managed to get its head up about a foot or so before it took back my gain. After a few minutes my line snapped, I was gutted. A word of advice to those who find themselves snagged or fighting a monster remember if your line snaps and you are side on to your kayak you might find yourself doing a back flip into the sea like i nearly did, at that point i lost my bait.

The sea state was a flat calm from Victoria pier to the Little Orm. Fishing at the Orm its self was a little bit choppy with a bit of a breeze but that is the norm as far as i know.

Planing a trip on the 27th December at Llandudno. Will be launching near to the paddling pool at 8am and will be there from 7am. Feel free to come along and catch some fish and work off that Christmas pud.
