Just a quick hello, I'm based near Telford, and kayak fish from Aberdovey North-wards. I mostly Fly fish (swff) off my yak, but have been known to throw a plug or two. Nice site, and nice to see so many more guys fishing around Anglessey, Llyn peninsula area on Kayaks. Regards Mike

Welcome aboard Zulu. I see you run a saltwater flyfishing site. That's original. First one I've seen. Sea angling is getting lots of refreshing new angles to the sport with saltwater fly and kayaks. I remember when using a plug in the sea was considered extrovert. Sea anglings come a long way.

hello mike. i'm from stoke. not far from you. my credibility on here has sunk since i chickened out of the kayak meet at conway and watched from the railings in my defence the clickfreeze pictures dont give justice to the conditions which were mad swirling estuary waters rolling past like the clappers. my greatest upset being that i was the only one who bottled it great friendly comraderie on here and i'm so glad to see another landlubber from the midlands.

Hi All, Like Zulu I am also a new member who fishes mostly between New Quay and Barmouth on my Prowler 13. I was amazed to see John Leggs post about your new year meet on the AN forum and to find this site with so many other yakkers aboard. I am based in Mid Wales although am originally from Staffordshire and have fished off the shore and various craft for 35 years or so, mainly around New Quay where we have a Caravan. You appear to have a nice friendly forum here and I look forward to hopefully meeting and fishing with you in the future Stuart.

Thanks for welcome guys, I look forward to meeting up with you, and fishing off our yaks. There are so many places around North Wales that I want to fish next season, not to mention a three day camping / fishing trip around Anglessey. The local Welsh chaps will have to forgive me if I cannot pronounce your village / town names - but it's hard for a South African ;D We, as a family normally take two weeks camping Holiday every year at Shell Island in our trailer tent - prime fishing time for me - and what a pleasure it is too. Hey Stuart, Glad to see you over here as well. Steve Evans, So this is the group you talking about, Hope you are sorted out kit wise, there are stacks of fish waiting to be caught on that Beulah rod of yours. Regards, Mike

You've excited me with the term fishing/camping The summer before last, me and my daughter rode a motorbike with tent and fishing rods down the west coast of Ireland. What a trip. Bass & barbacue evenings Now that we both have kayaks we've been talking of doing the same with the yaks around Anglesey in spring and Ireland in August.

Sounds like you had a cracking time, thats on my wish list, a campervan round ireland. How did you get a tent and fishing rods in that box on your bike though? lol!! your daughter sounds great, ive got a baby girl on the way in feb, 1st one! would be nice if she grows up enjoying the the things i do so we can share the experience. as long as she doesnt end up towing out bigger bass than me on the beach!!

If it can be done on a motorbike it can be done on a kayak. I simply cannot find words to describe the joy of roaming around in the fresh air (campervans pah!) and fishing different areas each time viewing the scenery with no windscreen between us. We're going to circumnavigate Anglesey in spring and then paddle along the west cost of Ireland in summer. I can't express what it s like viewing Ireland from a bike and fishing then barbacueing what we caught.

Ever seen a bloke that loves his daughter.
That picture of you and Melissa with that bike load of gear says it all.
Did you get a Japanese tourist to take the pic?
Fantastic stuff.

I was thinking of the circumnavigation thingy, but, with fishing and camping I dont think three days would be enough time. Anyhow, I wouldn't want to take on to much to start. I have been reading the trip reports on this site regarding sea kayaking and it really has opened my eyes to the possibilities. www.ukseakayakguidebook.co.uk/BTW - Those are great photos of your biking trip around Ireland, I have the same ethos regarding my two boy's. I try to introduce them to all sorts of things, drives their mother mad at times but I think she secretly enjoys it ;D Regards Mike

Don't feel too bad! I drove up from Stafford, but it's only when Ray installed himself in the front of my Malibu 2XL that I felt honour bound to go for it!!
Great day in the end though.
