Saturday was flat calm but i had to go with the kids horse riding. So, Murphy's Law, Sunday when I had some free time the sea was choppy with a 10mph freezing wind across the bay. I stayed in close (1/4 mile out) fished for 2 hours till high tide only 1 dog, but nice to get out. Coming back in was hard as the surf was high, a lot higher than when i went out. I headed in at a good speed i thought until i looked over my shoulder to see a 5ft wave breaking over the back of my kayak WOW It picked everything light up and washed it in to the sea.. me with it (although you who know me know I'm not light!). Luckily I was just able to stand at that point so it wasn't as embarrassing as it might have been in front of the audience of Sunday walkers watching me come in. DOH john

That's quite an ordeal for one dogfish. Sounds like you had an enjoyable time though. Did you lose any gear in the surf?
