yeah the first two were, they are really easy to do, but the third one wasn't, i tried to stand up on the kayak . i thought that moving around to reach different parts of the boat would be difficult, but it was a doddle must admit the first dunk i took was pretty chilly

At least you had a puny surf! My 9 yr old daughters first time in the sea with her Loko was in huge breakers and she capsized (unintentionaly) every 2 minutes and was constantly ducked about 6ft under. She must have thought 'Is this what sea kayakings always like'?

I know what you mean. My Malibu didn't stnd a chance. As soon as I tried to turn I was paddling like my life depended on it and I'd be hit side on by a breaker before I could finish the turn and over I'd go (then underwater). Tried Melissa's Loko and Johns Yakboard and could turn in enough time. Incidentally, Melissa's Loko cost new just £178 from Decathalon in Stockport!

This picture shows John side on in the surf. He stayed up from this wave but the next one hit him before he could recover and went over. To be fair though, he was deliberately paddling side on to the surf in order to practice.
