hi guys i have not posted before but have been on the site along time was just wondering has anyone taken a kayak to llanddwyn island how easy is it to get to the beach and whats the fishing like in the summer thanks

hi yes i have a prowler 13 and usually fish in colwyn bay

mark, did we meet once at Llandudno during a kayak meet - if i said something about getting a kayak down to the bay from mochdre along the road - would i be right ?

hi georgie yes thats me as soon as the weather calms down i will be going for a paddle so hopefully will be able to meet up with some of you guys will also be able to get some pics for the site

nice one mark, how's the wife - did you get her a caper yet? If ever you feel like some company for a paddle around colwyn or elsewhere - let me know- could get a couple of us to join you. Whats the interest in Llanddwyn island then- any particular reason apart from whats fishing?

To answer your question. At high tide the water is about 100 yards from the car park. Take two x one pound coins for the auto barrier. There is a sand bar a hundred yards or so from the beach, which make a logoon with its open end near the island - fast flow of water there !!! The island, only on VERY LOW TIDEs, is an island. Tip ... the fish are less than 10 feet from the rocks ..................... Don't get too distracted by the beautiful scenery. Take food and drink. The chippy in town is great and a very long way from the next one ..... Take note of opening times. There is a handy camp site halfway between the town and the gate to the beach.

thanks for the info Donald much appreciated. georgie i will certainly give you a shout about going for a paddle .the interest in llanddwyn is we are looking for somewhere to go camping in the summer and have heard there could be a few fish there
