How puffed out do you get kayaking? Would it be tiring to go about 300 meters out and back again?

Hello Harryo Kayaking is like any sport you have to build up stamina and fitness as you progress. When i started last year on my very first trip i did a total of a mile paddling to and from the beach through the surf and i am not a fit man, with mild asthma to boot. As time has gone on my fitness has improved and i have paddled ten miles over the course of a day between fishing marks the last five i covered in one hour back to the starting point, with the weather on my side. Looking back at last years trips i would say the average distance was four miles. If you are thinking of getting into kayak fishing don't let your fitness or lack of it put you off just enjoy this new found freedom its the best thing since sliced bread.

hi harryo, totaly agree with stitch there, i had not done a lot of kayaking before i bought mine, its just a matter of getting out there and gradually building up your fitness and stamina, believe me you ache in muscles you didnt even know you have!! but it doesnt take long to get yourself a way of paddling that your comfy with. just take it nice and slow, its not a race

300 yards out and back again would be a doddle However, if you were dumb enough to put yourself into a situation where you have to paddle against a strong estuary ebb tide, it'd be hell. Not may people daft enough to do that though
