i take it the transducer is in contact with the hull?, if so does it work well through the hull and does it affect it at all?

The transducer is in contact with the hull but it is important not to have any air between the transducer and hull gamin said to me that the fishfinder will loose about 00.01% of its sensitivity by shooting through the hull
