I've made the following timetable designed to give the shore anglers a good view of the kayaking side of things and a chance to watch or try without missing their match. Also for kayakers to get a slot at fishing, hot drinks, trying new gear etc. Let me know what you think of it.
Timetable
8am Organisers arrive and set up. 9am Kayakers arrive and Match Booking in starts. 10.30am Shore match starts and kayaks launch. 1.30pm Kayaks land. 2pm Match ends. 2.30pm Match results and prize giving. 3pm Kayak mess about. Try out different kayaks and paddles etc.

I find that the easiest and safest way to get in if there's a surf is;
1/ Point kayak into surf
2/ Just after a wave, straddle the kayak like surfers do (leg either side) which is miles easier and quicker than trying to get in.
3/ Paddle against the next wave with legs either side for balance.
4/ Pull in your legs and paddle as usual through the rest of the breakers.
If you do the above, it's a doddle!

i always feel like the whole worlds watching me when im getting on to my kayak, its easy but yet it feels so awkward, if you know what i mean , i wouldnt worry about it too much someone on the day will help you along, and just follow the image's steps there. anyway its all about getting wet, its the only way you learn, or was that just me? ;D ;D
