Ok John I'll spill the beans! ;D Met up with John & Kev (Hatter) at 4am Sunday with high hopes! We'd been looking at the forcast all Saturday wondering what we were in for, and sure enough, faced with a head on (ish) wind and a lively surf. Kev sensibly waited to see how we got on launching before going off to find somewhere more promising ;D(thanks for the leggins Kev by the way). More surf than on the photo! - this is looking back.... Anyway slogged it for a mile or so through the swell, wind etc got to the reef. I managed a mackeral & a small pollack. Unfortunately John was suffering with the dodgy swell (it was coming at us in varying sizes & directions), despite his groundbaiting not a lot doing fish wise. John decided to head home & I dawdled back after. Looking at the surf line coming in, was glad to see John on the beach waiting for me, though I nearly knocked him flying surfing sideways up the beach ;D Thanks John! I tried in the straights (another mackeral) in the afternoon. We both went back there for the evening tide...nothing doing apart from another mackie for John. Despite the lack of fish, was a great day with great company. Thanks to John & Jackie for their hospitality. Oh we'll get those clothes back to you Jackie, once they're washed......(don't ask ) Can't wait to get back to that reef in calmer conditions - loads of potential!! ;D Marc

It was fun getting out there the waves were very big ,the sun rise was worth the paddle out there , I don't think the trophy coming to dinas , may be next time. thank you for a great day Marc .
