One piece of information i always follow when buying a lure is to buy the one that resembles the predators quarry as close as possible. With the amount of colour variations from each maker how far can you go as far as colour is concerned. Some of them are beyond belief and i often think it would be a matter of luck if you could catch a fish on some of the designs i have seen.

hi Stitch Look at the thread titled jelly lures on PAGE 2 it has a bit from me about the way fish see colour. In real fish not the lure there are other factors to take in to concideration such as the natural movement and the electro inpulses from the fish etc. as the lures can not reproduce this, then they try all the colours. Good manufatures make tests on the lures to see the strick rate etc. Anyhow enough of the techno bit read the post and see if it helps. Me I go for what I think the fish would go for. But look at the dexter wedge!!!!! lump of metal with hooks hanging off the end and that works Its in the shape, colour, noise it makes and the way it moves. get all of them in one and you cracked it...... well for one type of fish anyway in a given area and size of fish. So on the whole they make it to cover all things and that dont always work as you know..... sometimes its pot luck so try anything and try it again.

yep I know what you mean as I have the book with them all in from the suppliers and I love looking and picking the next few.
If you go to a small fishing shop or better still a market stall ask them for a product booklet and it has loads in even some info on how they work.
